Wie kommt der Preis einer Maine Coon zustande?

Unsere Kätzchen sind keine Schnäppchen vom Wühltisch - Sie sind Freunde fürs Leben und Familienmitglieder!
Eine Rassekatze hat ihren Preis, aber dafür bekommen Sie auch ein ganz besonderes Rassekätzchen, das mit viel Liebe auf den Menschen geprägt wurde und  von seinem Züchter mit viel Zeit-, Arbeits- und Kostenaufwand einen optimalen Start in ein langes Katzenleben mitbekommt. Die Katzenzucht ist ein sehr teures Hobby. Ein seriöser Züchter ist Mitglied in einem Katzenzuchtverband und öffnet bereitwillig seinen Geldbeutel für Vereinsbeiträge, Stammbäume, Impfungen, Gesundheitszeugnisse, Futter (Glauben Sie mir, Maine Coon-Mägen sind groß wie Scheunentore...), Katzenstreu, Spielzeug, Katzenzubehör, Fotos, Ausstellungsbesuche, Inserate in Zeitungen und Fachzeitschriften, Telefon- und Internetkosten u.v.m. Wer dann keinen eigenen Deckkater besitzt, darf noch einmal rund 500 EUR für die Liebesdienste eines guten Deckkaters berappen und ehe man sich versieht wird das Echo im Geldbeutel immer lauter... Wenn Sie ein Nobelauto kaufen wollen, dann wissen Sie um seinen Preis und feilschen doch auch nicht wie auf dem Türkischen Basar - oder? Bitte haben Sie Verständnis für die Kosten, die eine seriöse Zucht mit sich bringt - Zeit, Arbeit, Herzblut, zerfetzte Strumpfhosen, massakrierte Zimmerpflanzen, rustikale Kratzer in den Möbeln, gefressene Goldfische, versteckte Autoschlüssel und wegen schwangeren Kätzinnen  geplatzte Urlaube sind hier garnicht mitgerechnet...
Wer bei Tieren nur auf den Preis schaut, der unterstützt Massenzüchter und auf lange Sicht nur das Elend der Tiere dort!

Our cats are no bargains from a rummage table – they are friends for life!

A pedigree cat has its price. But for this price you will get a cat which is shaped by the breeder’s love, the breeder’s expenditure of time, energy and costs for having an optimal start in a long cat life. Breeding cats is a very expensive hobby.  A professional and serious breeder is a membership in a cat breeders association and opens his moneybag willingly for costs like membership costs, pedigrees, immunization, certificates of health, feed (believe me – the stomach of a Maine Coon cat is bigger than a barn door), cat litter, plaything, accessory, pictures, exhibitions, advertisement, telephone and internet costs etc. Who has no own male breeding cat has to pay round about 500 EUR for the labours of love of a good male cat and before you can say knife the hole in your money bag becomes bigger and bigger. When you want to buy a luxury car then you know about its price and you do not bargain as if you are on a Turkish bazaar. I kindly ask for your understanding for the costs of a serious breed – time, heart and soul, frazzled tights, killed indoor plants, claw marks in furniture, killed goldfish, hidden car keys and deferred holidays because of pregnant female cat are not included in the calculation….

People who look on the price of a pet support dubious “breeders” and support the misery of the animals, too.
